Unlimited Internet Access for £5 per month.

Now what does that statement mean? What does it actually mean to the man on the street, a man like you or I (unless you are a woman of course, but you know what I mean).

I can tell you what it doesn’t mean. It doesn’t mean that you can get unlimited internet access for £5 per month. Not if you are an O2 customer, oh no.

I took a new contract out with O2 you see, in June of last year and I was told at the time that the terms and conditions would be changing so that the unlimited internet access would be limited, “but not to worry Mr Carew because it doesn’t come into effect until the end of July and as you are signing up now it will not apply to you." So how come this month I have been told that, after four days, I have used 600MB of my ‘unlimited’ 750MB limit??

Because O2 are fucking thieving gypsy bastards, that’s why.

That’s unfair to gypsies, I suppose. Well some of them. A minority probably but you shouldn’t tar them all with the same brush. Not unless you are sure anyhow.

It transpires that it is the satnav function of my phone that uses all my limited unlimited 750MB limit. All those maps and stuff. They say you should hook up to wifi as this does not use up your limited unlimited limit, but how the fuck am I supposed to do that when I am driving up the M6 at 72mph? And why put all this stuff on the phone if it is just going to use too much data?

The real question of course is; is the world’s data supply going to run out? Is there a global shortage of data which has prompted the mobile phone companies to limit the unlimited access? If that’s the case then I think they are acting extremely responsibly and should be congratulated. But I don’t think so.

I think they are just money grabbing fuck-pigs who are out to fleece us of everything they can.

Maybe I should have stuck with 3. After all, it is a 3 mobile dongle that is uploading this as I am currently lying on my hotel room bed in Kirkintilloch. The allowance is only 500MB for £2, but at least they have the bastard decency to tell you.
Only a short rant tonight, but I is tired. I was up at three this morning, you know.............

  1. Was this a double dose to include the 12th of January. Were you busy travelling that night to your destination in Kirkintilloch or could you just not be arsed. You need to remember you have a fan base (1) people who rely on your blog to bring a smile to their face.

  2. Apologies, I was tired, I didn't get home on Wednesday until 2030hrs after doing my 'charity work' and I was needing my bed as I was getting up at 0300hrs the following day.

As my old school reports used to say, "must do better".............
